Cuttyhunk Public Library News Update:

Recently, the Cuttyhunk Public Library received a BOOKS FOR CHILDREN grant from The Libri Foundation. Located in Eugene, Oregon, the Foundation provides book grants to small, rural libraries.

This grant enabled us to select books for young listeners, beginning readers, and intermediate readers. With a booklist provided by the Foundation, the library chose $1,050 work of books to add to our collection. Our library raised $350 from book sales and raffle events with the Foundation matching it with a 2-to-1 ratio ($700). In addition, the Foundation provided bookplates which state the books are a donation of the library’s local sponsor – the Gosnold community – and The Libri Foundation.

We are extremely gratified to have received this grant, and thank The Libri Foundation for its support. Also, we thank our patrons, visitors, community, and volunteer staff for their continuing support of our library.

Please visit our library to see these wonderful new books which are on display in the children’s section. We look forward to sharing them with our community.
